After watching the incredible peace agreements between Israel and the UAE and Bahrain we were reminded that the God of Israel is at work bringing about his purpose and plan.  Many Bible students have waited for this time of peace and prosperity for Israel that exists prior to the Northern invader descending on the holy land as outlined in Ezekiel 38.  These events will be responded to from the God of Israel as he intervenes to save his people with the revealing of his son, the Jewish Messiah, to the world on the Mount of Olives as shown in Zachariah 14.

While there may be a feeling of peace that comes to Israel it will be the opposite in the nations of the world.  What the Bible shows as the time of the end among the nations is a time of violence, unrest, and upheaval.  Welcome to another edition of the Bible in the News, this is John Billington with you.

North of Israel in Turkey, Europe, and Russia some of the greatest upheavals will be seen as a resurgent Russia exerts herself and establishes one the most fearful empires the world has ever seen under the leadership of a man of great pride.  The territory of the empire will stretch from the Atlantic to the Pacific.  This is understood to be the case from an understanding that Rosh is Russia in Ezekiel 38.  This then also links in with the image of Daniel 2 and the latter-day king of the north in chapter 11.

It has been with great interest than that on this program we have watched with great anticipation as Russia started to expand once again, into Georgia, Crimea, and eastern Ukraine.  And now we find ourselves with the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan heating back up.  In fact this last week it has turned into actual fighting.

And in the north on Russia’s western border in Belarus, they have experienced well over a month of protests against Lukashenko.  In both of these places what remains to be seen is how much and if so when will Russia intervene.  Ultimately whether Russia sends forces into these areas remains to be seen, however, what is clear from scripture is that one way or another Russia will be moving west, its just a matter of when.

And as if those conflicts were not enough the divide in America is only growing.  On the backs of the Black Lives Matter riots and with the November election fast approaching Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg died leaving a seat to be filled.  With Trump already has been able to fill two of the nine seats he is equal to the last 4 Presidents, but if Amy Comey Barratt is confirmed President Trump will have filled three seats.  And as there are only a total of 9 seats and those justices are in until they die or resign filling three seats can make a big impact.  The Democrats are well aware of this and will do anything they can to stop the President.  The result of course is a great added layer of contention.

Listen online to hear the author of the Strange Death of Europe, Douglas Murray speaking to the situation in America.  And, also as we consider the Jews now dwelling in booths this week for the Feast of Tabernacles/ Booths.
